Cupola Pantheon (Roma) · Decorative porcelain

Milan, Italy · Since 1940

Established in Milan in 1940, Fornasetti grew from Piero Fornasetti’s fascination with images, architecture and the unexpected. An artist and collector, he transformed familiar objects into compositions that invite a second look: a classical dome across porcelain, an expressive face, a small moment of visual surprise.

A living archive

Today, his son Barnaba continues that creative enquiry. An archive of more than 13,000 drawings, paintings, models and collected objects offers the starting point for new interpretations. The result is a recognisable visual language that connects generations while leaving room for invention.

The art in everyday rituals

Screen printing, painting and careful manual processes bring these ideas to life. Hand-decorated porcelain gives the imagery a lasting surface; subtle differences between pieces reflect the work of the artisan.

Our selection brings together architectural decorative plates and expressive teacups. The Cupola designs celebrate Italian domes, while the Tema e Variazioni series reimagines the face of opera singer Lina Cavalieri. Each offers a distinctive way to bring art into the home.
