Description

Ruby, diamond and gold pendant.
Period: Early 20th century
Of circular design, collet-set with a cabochon ruby and a circular-cut diamond, from a curb-link chain, length approximately 610mm.

Note

Ferdinand I, Tsar of Bulgaria (1861-1948) received this pendant as a seventieth birthday present in 1931.

描述

Condition:
The provenance is attested by a handwritten inventory from Princess Eudoxia of Bulgaria (1898-1985).
The later added chain stamped 585 for 14 carat gold. Ruby purplish red of medium saturation, moderately included, dark crystal, nicks. Diamond weighing approximately 0.40 – 0.50 carat, bright and lively. Scratches and scuffs to the metal consistent with age and wear. Pendant measuring approximately 25 x 25mm. Gross weight approximately 22 grams.
