Sapphire and gold clip, 1930s
Of scroll design, collet-set with a pear-shaped sapphire, maker’s mark.
Accompanied by GIA report no. 7481780798, stating that the sapphire are Sri Lanka origin, No indications of Heating.
Note
Princess Nadezhda of Bulgaria (1899-1958) and her husband Albrecht Eugen, Duke of Württemberg (1895-1954), gifted this sapphire clip to their sister and sister-in-law, Princess Eudoxia of Bulgaria.

Condition:
The provenance is attested by a handwritten inventory note from Princess Eudoxia of Bulgaria (1898-1985).
Maker’s mark. Stamped 585 for 14 carat gold. Sapphire estimated to weigh approximately 4.25 carats, slightly violetish blue of light saturation, slightly included, cavities, nicks, abrasions to the facet edges. Scratches and minor tarnish to the metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition. Measuring approximately 45 x 15mm. Gross weight approximately 12 grams.
